Owner & Facilitator
Born and raised in the lush farm and horse country South of Montreal, Nathalie developed a passion for horses at an early age. She still fondly remembers Cheyenne, a beautiful Bay gelding that became her first equine companion when she was a young teenager working in a local ranch, tending horses and leading trail rides for customers.
As life and motherhood pulled her in a separate direction, she developed and honed her teaching skills by getting involved with youth development programs and becoming a certified NCCP coach (National Coaching Certification Program). She spent many years facilitating sporting events, coaching sports teams and putting together extra-curricular programs for high school students to keep them focused on life essentials and off the streets.
She always kept in touch with the equine world acquiring experience and knowledge through different courses, clinics and seminars. Throughout her professional career, Nathalie acquired a strong background in the Legal, Executive Management and Business Development fields. As luck would have it, it turned out to be the perfect complement to her life-long passion for horses when came time to merge it with her profound inclination to help people : Equine Assisted Learning came along and her dream of helping people improve their lives through horses became reality…
Once Nathalie sets her sights on an objective, it would be easier to harness a hurricane than to try to change her mind! So she happily and wholeheartedly embarked on a journey of information gathering, brainstorming and top-quality training and certification in Equine Assisted Learning that resulted in the wonderful product you’re reading about right now : The Authentik Wellness Ranch was born from her dream of empowering people through horses.
Megan has always had a special connection with animals. She started riding horses before she could walk and has been riding and competing ever since.
She bought her first horse when she was 12 – A Sorrel Quarter Horse named Drifter.
Since then she has gained 35+ years in the horse industry-riding, competing/showing, training, breeding and farming. She has attended all sorts and types of clinics and has ridden with some of the world’s top trainers.
Her more formal education was with the University of Guelph – Equine studies and Equine Rehabilitation. She is also EAGALA certified EAL & EAP. She has run a very successful program for at risk youth for over 7 years through which she has developed a keen sense of observation and collaboration. She has also worked with many families and clients through the years but takes pride in having worked with our veterans using EAL methods helping them heal and find balance.
Wife and mother of two amazing kids, Megan still finds a way to juggle a busy personal life, her farm and her equine passion all while loving the work of being an Equine Assisted Learning Facilitator.
Horses change lives:
They give people confidence and self-esteem.
They provide peace and tranquility to troubled souls.
They give us hope!
